  The Scouting Legal Defense Fund is a project of the American Civil Rights Union (ACRU). Neither are affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America and funds contributed to the Scouting Legal Defense Fund do not go to the Boy Scouts. The primary mission of the Scouting Legal Defense Fund is to provide independent legal support for the Boy Scouts. It also educates the public and the media about the values and importance of Scouting.
